Born and raised in Bay Area California, Mauricio Villalpando, better known by his stage name KingCasz, is an emerging artist with what he proudly calls a “RARE SOUND.” His flow, versatility, and genuine storytelling set him apart in an era where originality is often overlooked. For KingCasz, music isn’t just art — it’s therapy, truth, and the language of the soul.
KingCasz’s musical journey began when he was just 16 or 17 years old, in high school, with nothing more than a Pro Tools USB mic, a laptop, and a small recording setup in his mother’s and grandmother’s room. What started as curiosity quickly grew into a deep passion. His early recordings may have been rough around the edges, but they carried heart — and that raw emotion became his signature.
In 2012, fate led him to a group of friends who introduced him to a larger studio environment filled with artists, creativity, and energy. There, he recorded his first few songs and music videos — early experiments that would later shape his artistic identity. Though those early videos were eventually taken down, they marked the beginning of something real.
Determined to master his craft, KingCasz invested in himself — buying a Blue Bird microphone, an M-Audio interface, and Logic Pro X to learn the art of self-recording, mixing, and mastering. “I’m very picky with my quality,” he admits, a perfectionist who refuses to release anything that doesn’t meet his standard. His commitment to growth eventually led to his first official studio single, “Take Care,” recorded at DreamKing Studio — a turning point that opened new doors and opportunities in his musical journey.
Since then, KingCasz has performed at respected open mic venues such as Studio X, Breathe of Fire, and The High Society Poetry Lounge, steadily building a name in the local creative scene. Each performance adds fuel to his fire, and every collaboration expands his sound.
Currently, KingCasz is gearing up to release two highly anticipated EP projects — “What Is Love” and “Trials &&’ Tribulations,” the latter created in collaboration with his brother Syruss. Both projects dive deep into themes of emotion, struggle, and personal growth — blending heart-driven lyricism with smooth, melodic production.
His latest single, “WISH” (featuring Syruss), is now streaming on all major platforms — a soulful record that captures his ability to blend honesty with artistry.
When asked what inspires his sound, KingCasz says it best:
“I make music that speaks from the heart. Some people can’t express themselves because they fear being judged — I wear my heart on my sleeve. My music is for everyone who’s not afraid to feel.”
For KingCasz, music is more than ambition — it’s connection. It’s about letting people know they’re not alone, and that vulnerability is strength. With his unique tone, dedication, and emotional depth, KingCasz stands as one of the most authentic voices emerging from the Bay Area.
