Lil Wayne Confirms ‘Tha Carter VI’ Is Finally Dropping in 2025

Here’s a fresh take on the article:

Lil Wayne Confirms ‘Tha Carter VI’ for 2025: “Guaranteed”

Lil Wayne has officially put the speculation to rest—Tha Carter VI is dropping in 2025. The legendary rapper, now 42, gave fans the confirmation they’ve been waiting for while attending the College Football Playoff National Championship game on January 20.

A Promise to Fans

During AT&T’s “Guaranteed Or Not Guaranteed” segment on Instagram, host Mel Mitchell asked Weezy if his highly anticipated album would arrive in 2025. Without hesitation, he doubled down, saying, “Guaranteed. Guaranteed.”

Staying true to his love for wordplay, he followed up with an impromptu freestyle:
“Got bars like AT&T, flow guaranteed/ It’s Weezy F. Baby, let’s go!”

Years in the Making

Wayne has been teasing Tha Carter VI for years, even dropping a prelude mixtape, Tha Fix Before Tha VI, in September 2023. The 10-track project featured collaborations with Jon Batiste, Fousheé, Cool & Dre, TheNightAftr, and Euro, giving fans a taste of what’s to come. Shortly after, he linked up with 2 Chainz for Welcome 2 Collegrove, a sequel to their 2016 joint album.

Despite these releases, it’s been five years since Wayne’s last solo studio album, Funeral (2020), leaving fans eager for a new full-length project.

Super Bowl Snub Fuels Motivation?

Some believe Wayne’s renewed drive stems from his public disappointment over not being chosen to perform at the Super Bowl in his hometown, New Orleans. The halftime slot ultimately went to Kendrick Lamar, a decision Weezy initially reacted to with frustration on social media. However, in a recent conversation with Skip Bayless, he expressed support for K. Dot, saying, “I hope he kills it.”

While Wayne won’t be taking the Super Bowl stage this year, Tha Carter VI is set to be a major moment in Hip-Hop when it finally arrives in 2025. Fans can rest easy knowing the album is no longer a rumor—it’s a guarantee.
